Calderdale Council is seeking an exceptional finance professional to lead our Financial Services portfolio through a period of transformation and innovation. As Corporate Lead - Financial Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of financial management across the authority, driving excellence, accountability, and value for money.

About the Role

Lead and develop a high-performing finance team across core services including financial planning, financial analysis and advice, procurement, taxation, treasury, and statutory reporting.

Establish and embed a robust business partnering model that supports service delivery and strategic decision-making.

Drive improvements in financial governance, performance management, and accountability frameworks.

Provide expert advice to senior leaders, elected members, and stakeholders on complex financial matters.

Deputise for the Director in respect of Section 151 responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

CCAB-qualified finance leader (or demonstrable equivalent experience).

Successful track record in senior finance roles within complex organisations, ideally in local government.

Experience of leading transformation and embedding new ways of working.

Collaborative, proactive leadership style that inspires teams and builds trust across the organisation.

Strong analytical skills and a commitment to high standards of governance and public service.

Passion for digital innovation and continuous improvement.
