The Eden Project is an educational charity and our mission is to demonstrate and inspire positive action for the planet. As part of this we deliver campaigns and ideas that encourage public engagement and participation to help build social and natural capital in our communities. In order to grow awareness and engagement in these initiatives, we collaborate with a variety of partners across the private and public sectors.

To support an exciting chapter in our community outreach and campaigns, we are looking for a new Corporate Partnership Account Manager who has experience building on existing relationships, developing new ones, as well as providing account management for major brands and household names. The role will focus primarily on working with existing corporate partners to develop activations that support Eden Project's charitable work and participation in our flagship campaign, The Big Lunch.

This role requires an individual who excels at strategic thinking, exceptional stewardship and relationship building. Bringing a tenacity and enthusiasm, there is opportunity to work with corporate partners to have greater impact in communities, which is a key driver for Eden's wider strategic plans and aims.

Working for the Eden Project (charity number 1093070), roles within the programme are funded by the Pears Foundation. This is a fixed term contract to the end of June 2027 with further extension planned but currently subject to funding. The post holder will be based at the Eden Project with some flexible working optional, and travel across the UK for key partner events and meetings as required.

In order to grow awareness and engagement in these initiatives across the general public, we collaborate and partner with a wide range of organisations to help us amplify what we do as a national charity.

The post holder will account manage current major corporate partners alongside identifying prospects and leads to create new opportunities to build into Eden Project's Partnership Framework. You will build on existing relationships and provide account management for major brands and household names as well as working together with businesses, sponsors and corporates to help them activate their networks with the primary objective of growing participation in Eden Project's charitable work, with a focus on our work within communities across the UK and our flagship project, The Big Lunch.



Key accountabilities

Provide account management across corporate partner organisations in different sectors. Leading on responses to day-to-day queries, managing meetings, maintaining sponsorship plans, and documentation for each partnership and looking for areas of expansion and growth. Ensure partnerships are managed with exceptional stewardship to ensure renewal and manage delivery cost effectively and in accordance with agreed plans. Follow the required internal financial procedures for invoicing and cost recovery.

Oversee development and delivery of all partner resources required across key natiowide campaigns including all communications, articles, web content, Big Lunch pack resources and promotional materials working with colleagues in our marketing department to deliver real value for partners to best effect. Work with the Partnership Marketing Manager and Content Team to ensure all campaign comms and materials meet brand guidelines, values, tone of voice and key messaging requirements for all organsations involved.

Support the delivery of the Partnership Framework with a minimum of two major corporate partners (six figure value) per year with a target of 3 plus up to 5 supporting partnerships with smaller commercial value (25-75k) for our communities work. Work to increase the number and value of long term partnerships to benefit Eden Project's overarching strategy including securing a Charity of the Year partnership for Eden Project. Work with partners to increase awareness, reach and participation in The Big Lunch and other Eden Projects', ensuring mutual benefits to partners and negotiating a commercial return as appropriate.

Source new leads, prospecting and building relationships with new high value corporate partners. Develop pitches and proposals for new approaches and support the development of contracts to support partner relationships for Eden. Build and maintain our CRM database with key current and potential contacts. In collaboration with partners, identify joint projects, events, ideas and channels to support The Big Lunch and our other community related projects and work with partners to deliver, monitor and evaluate these.

Develop and deliver a tailored annual roadmap of engagement and activity for each partner that meets the objectives of our work and their needs from their involvement, including the creative delivery of our annual Big Lunch campaign. Identify areas for partnership growth and development including partnership activations worthy of partnership recignition through relevant awards .



Demands of the role

Education & qualifications Educated to degree level or above with with exceptional interpersonal, relationship and communication skills.

Knowledge & skills

The role holder will have a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role, where they will have account managed multiple high value corporate partnerships. Experience of working within a corporate environment desirable, with third sector and charity experience essential. The post holder will be able to evidence exceptional stewardship and relationship building experience having worked with major partners previously, coupled with excellent communication skills.



Decision- making

A strategic thinker, the post holder will drive the continued engagement and amplification of our work across a wide range of external partners. Working to short and medium term objectives with a view to developing long term value and sustained partnerships that last several years. Reports to Programme Director on progress and outcomes on a weekly basis, the role holder will be the day to day contact with partners in order to deliver the best approach to gain maximum value for and from each partner.



Resourcefulness

This role requires adaptive thinking to maximise partnership opportunities. The post holder will research existing partners and and identify new potential corporate and brand partners to maximize the profile of The Big Lunch asnd other Eden initatives to ensure the continued growth of public participation and awareness of our charitable work. Ability to think on your feet and develop creative solutions to challenges will be required on a regular basis.



People & asset management

Responsible for a small budget but with stewardship over significant income sources managing partnerships, with authority to authorize small payments. No line management currently required but may coordinate and influence wider team to support partnerships effectively including supervising volunteers or interns as required. Has responsibility for partnership assets, including sensitive personal data relating to partnerships and programme participants.



Communication & visitor experience

Exceptional communication skills with excellent stewardship skills alongside that can be tailored to different sector audiences. Highly developed tact, strength of personality and strong client/agency management skills are integral to this role. Occasionally manages complex and potentially sensitive or volatile situations with highly developed interpersonal skills to manage key external relationships with support from Programme Director. May handle mid level negotiations and sensitive or confidential situations relating to partnerships and their development. Able to act as a programme ambassador at a senior level and relate well at all levels across a mix of organisations, government departments and the general public.



Operational environment

The role would ideally be based in Cornwall though remote working could be considered depending on location. There is a degree of flexible working, including some evening and weekend work and UK travel and overnight stays likely to deliver this role. The role will form part of a hardworking, passionate team spread across the UK with offices at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
