Main Responsibilities

As a Corporate Policy and Project Manager, you will play a key role in the development of work to address the needs of Londoners and the priorities of our member boroughs. Working directly with the Chief Executive and the Corporate Management Team, you will lead on policy and corporate projects. Engaging with stakeholders, conduct research, and contribute to the creation of effective policies that align with the goals and values of London local government.

This is a politically restricted post, under Section 2 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

The Ideal Candidate

The

ideal candidate

will have the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and work in a political environment, building strong professional relationships with senior leaders. They will have strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and be a skilled and engaging communicator with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences. You will be driven and enjoy problem-solving in a changing and fast paced environment and be prepared to apply creative approaches to tackling issues.

Package Description

Responsible to: Chief Executive


People Manager: Associate Director


Starting salary: 52,344 per annum


Working Hours: 35 per week


Contract details: Permanent. Full time. Hybrid working. Some mandatory office days required.

Matrix Working




This role operates within a matrix working structure in our wider Policy team, collaborating across functional and project-based teams to achieve shared goals and deliver results that support our Shared Ambitions for London and Londoners.


Team members are expected to work flexibly across functions and policy areas, contributing their expertise where needed and supporting policy and project related priorities in a collaborative and responsive way.


This role's primary project and task manager is the Chief Executive of London Councils and will have an Associate Director as a people manager.
