Role Overview
This senior role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key client relationships, manage complex tax projects, and contribute to shaping the future direction of the tax practice. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that support both client and business growth, while also supporting the general practice team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee a diverse portfolio of corporate tax clients, delivering high-quality advisory services including mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, share option schemes, restructures, reorganisations, succession, and exit planning such as company buybacks and capital reductions.
Conduct technical compliance reviews of corporation tax computations prepared by the team.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and share relevant insights internally and with clients to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
Contribute to the strategic development of the corporate tax department, including business development and process improvements.
Represent the practice at client meetings, industry events, and in business development activities.
Ideally have knowledge or experience in related areas such as personal tax, VAT, and Stamp Duty/Stamp Duty Land Tax.
Candidate Profile
Significant corporate tax experience with a successful track record in a managerial role.
Strong technical expertise and strategic advisory abilities on complex tax issues.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to inspire confidence in clients and colleagues.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA).
Proficiency in tax software and solid knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
