Corporate Tax Specialist
KBR's Tax Team is seeking a Corporate Tax Specialist within its UK, European and African tax function. Reporting into the Regional Senior Tax Manager, based in Leatherhead, the individual will also interact directly with the Group Tax function, based in Houston.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Group's UK corporate tax compliance and reporting, and to a lesser degree the wider regional tax function. In addition, the individual will be asked to perform technical research, project support and corporate tax planning. The role offers exposure to KBR's global tax and finance teams.
The position is based in KBR's Leatherhead Campus but with flexible working patterns..
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Senior Tax Manager, the role holder will:
Be responsible for the running of the tax provision work for the UK group.
Preparing UK corporation tax returns for the UK Corporate Tax Manager's review.
Support the UK Group's R&D tax credit process;
Interacting with internal colleagues in financial accounting, legal and other global tax team members on a regular basis.
Own the meeting of withholding tax compliance obligations and related double tax treaty applications.
Responsible for maintaining cash tax forecast reporting for the region.
Support peers on a variety of tax advisory and project work.
Manage tax project activity as appropriate.
Alongside the European Corporate Tax Specialist, the role holder will:
Support the tax reporting and compliance processes for European jurisdictions.
Alongside the Regional Corporate Tax Manager:
Support the review of tax systems, policies and processes, including consideration of SOX requirements, SAO etc.
Skills / Experience:
Essential
A relevant number of years' experience working in corporate tax required.
Familiarity with Tax Accounting concepts.
Able to discuss tax technical matters in plain language.
Well organised and able to manage own time effectively.
Inquisitive and analytical approach.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.
Desirable
Tax reporting experience, ideally including US GAAP tax reporting experience.
Experience of Corporate Tax Compliance and the Thomson Reuters Onesource software platforms.
Experience in interrogating a General Ledger system.
Experience using MS Dynamics and the MS Power applications.
Qualifications:
CTA, ACA qualified or equivalent.
