Job Description

Estates Division are looking for a new Contract & Cost Analyst, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual integrity of a 25 million annual maintenance and minor works programme across a diverse estate of over 370 buildings. This is a strategic and hands-on role, supporting the stewardship of an estate valued at over 3.4 billion. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure that all contractual arrangements are robust, compliant, and deliver long-term value for the University.


Key Responsibilities




Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts for maintenance and facilities services. Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure performance, compliance, and value for money. Support procurement processes, including tender evaluations and contract awards. Conduct detailed cost analysis and financial modelling to inform strategic decisions. Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities. Manage contract lifecycles and maintain performance metrics. Develop policies and templates to improve consistency and compliance. Deliver training and expert advice to Estates Division colleagues.

About You




You'll bring a strong foundation in contract law, procurement, and financial analysis, ideally within the education or public sector. You'll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Essential Criteria:




Degree-level education or equivalent experience. Proven experience in contract negotiation and cost analysis. Knowledge of public procurement regulations and standard construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.

Desirable:




Legal or procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS, RICS, LLM). Experience in higher education or facilities management.
