Bouygues Energies & Services (part of Equans) has a fantastic opportunity available for a Cost Controller to join us in our Bristol office.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Finance & Accounting professional to work on the Hinkley Point C project, one of the most exciting projects out there!
Job Purpose:
Responsibility for monitoring cost measurement and progress of the project, comparing budget amounts to actual expenses. Reports periodic financial statements and ensures that accounting procedures and systems are adequate and functional. In charge of maintaining IT system with IT service support.
The Role:

• Work with all relevant Work Package Leads and Finance Manager to ensure that cost control procedures are in place.
• Assist in setting up project within Cost System (SAP) to an agreed format.
• Review and accurately input cost commitments and expenditures into the cost control system.
• Prepare regular cost reports and promptly notify management of potential overruns.
• Highlighting cost areas of concern and suggesting areas of improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
• Liaising with the Finance Manager with regards to establishing monthly valuation of work done, goods received and services rendered for invoice preparation and verification.
• Prepare/assist timely and detailed reports on financial performance on monthly (KPI production), quarterly and annual basis to BYES Headquarters in France.
• Forecasting, scheduling and monitoring: To ensure expenditures are kept within planned monthly budget at any given point of time.
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems based on internal group policy.
• Liaise with Equans IT and BY UK head office services to provide the project team with IT assistance.
• Liaise with BY UK head office services (accounting and HR) to provide the project team with appropriate accounting and payroll support.

• Accounting and finance experience and knowledge
• Strong IT skills
• Able to work autonomously
• Good communication and listening skills
• Decision-making ability
• SAP experience desirable but not essential
