Are you a Cost Manager looking to work on building projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so, we are looking for an experienced Cost Manager to join our Defence sector team to work on a mixture of both UK and Overseas projects. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. While you will be UK based there may at times be a requirement for short duration Overseas visits.

About Our Team

We are an industry leader in program, project and cost management services working across a range of industries and sectors. The cost management team serves both private and public clients.

The Defence sector team is located across the UK and you will be based out of one of our regional offices to suite you such as London, Basingstoke, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester, Norwich, Plymouth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. You will provide Cost Management Services across not only Defence but also a wide range of sectors.

Our key clients include Ministry of Defence (Defence Infrastructure Organisation), Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Department of Education, and the Government Property Agency. As a Cost Manager, you will be a self-motivated individual from a consultancy or client organisation background, although wider construction or contracting backgrounds will be considered, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

You\'ll have proven experience conducive to your level in providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.

You\'ll have solid and practised core measurement skills with experience of quantified procurement routes and experience of core cost management sectors such as residential, education and healthcare is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members, conducive to your aspired role at AECOM.
  • Good Understanding of contracts (JCT and NEC). Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.
  • Full UK driving license, and a willingness to travel.
  • CSCS card holder
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Qualified - Chartered Status with the RICS or other equivalent institution is preferred.
  • Degree Qualified - BSc or MSc - in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or similar construction related undergraduate degree.
