This is an excellent development opportunity for a Counselling Service Lead / Clinical Supervisor who is looking to gain experience relevant to a future senior therapist or clinical leadership career, and who wishes to make a real difference now in the third sector as part of our senior leadership team.

Better Pathways has embarked on an ambitious programme of growth and is recruiting a Counselling Service Lead / Clinical Supervisor to oversee delivery of our BetterHealth4Life Project, a Birmingham City Council Prevention & Communities grant-funded programme.

The project provides individuals and groups with wrap-around mental health support, alongside a physical activity programme delivered in partnership with Sport4Life. The Counselling Service Lead / Clinical Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring that mental health improvement outcomes are achieved, while also supporting the data collection and reporting processes required by commissioners.

A range of measures are used to assess impact, including WEMWBS, GAD7, PHQ9, and REQOL, and you will have a good understanding of these tools.

Alongside this, we are seeking an energetic, ideas-driven Counselling Service Lead / Clinical Supervisor to join our senior leadership team as we grow our general counselling offer, including a potential commercial service for employers to complement Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs).

We are also preparing to bid for a forthcoming Counselling Project to be tendered by the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Provider Collaborative. Therefore, there will be genuine opportunities for career progression and promotion for the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will bring experience in CBT therapy, counselling, and clinical supervision within mental health settings. You will have proven skills in encouraging people to perform at their best, influencing and achieving service improvement, and working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. You will have a high level of autonomy to shape your role, within a clear governance and support framework.

It is essential that you hold a qualification in clinical supervision, as you will be responsible for strengthening our established partnerships with local universities who place student counsellors with us. In return, you will receive regular clinical supervision, funded by Better Pathways.

We recognise that we may not offer the highest salary, but we offer a supportive, inclusive culture and a commitment to your professional development.

You will benefit from:

30 days' annual leave plus bank holidays Hybrid and flexible working to support work-life balance A friendly, values-driven team culture, recognised by our employees Free light lunches (mainly beans and cheese on toast!) and unlimited tea and coffee
If all of this excites you, we'd love to hear from you.
