Post 1:


?Hours

: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Work Pattern

: Expected hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Please note: The service operates Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 8:00pm, and the successful candidate will need to be available to work within these hours as required.

Contract Type

: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract from start date

This is a Hybrid role where you will work primarily remotely from home, with some work in the community - the location will be discussed further at interview.

This is a Hybrid role where you will work remotely from home, in the community covering South Norfolk and the City Centre Norwich.

Salary:

The salary will be based on your qualification level, for part time hours your salary will be pro rata

Band 5

(31,049 per annum): Counsellors without accreditation with a professional body, or without training in a Talking Therapies/IAPT modality (Counselling For Depression) or Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Band 6

(38,682 per annum): Counsellors who are accredited with a professional body, and hold a Talking Therapies/IAPT qualification in (Counselling For Depression) or Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

?*Due to the nature of the role a driver licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.

?My name's Keir Brisbane-Langsdon and I'm the Head of Counselling Services in Norfolk and Waveney Mind. Our Talking Therapies Counselling Service works as part of the NHS to offer free at the point of access, effective brief therapy interventions within the community. We achieve fantastic results with our clients and are on a journey to reduce the waits for counselling. In this role you will offer a variety of counselling interventions; swiftly adapting to the needs of the client, contributing to a vibrant team of counsellors and supervisors, and truly making a positive impact on the local community. ?The post holder will provide individual and group counselling interventions for clients with common mental health problems as appropriate to meet service-user needs. They will monitor their performance and outcomes in conjunction with the their clinical supervisor, and the wider team.

The post holder will be a fully qualified counsellor, and BACP/UKCP (or other accepted professional body) accredited - or working towards accreditation. You may be required to complete the NHS Talking Therapies training in Counselling for Depression or Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and any other future training requirements in line with the National Talking Therapies programme, as directed. The postholder will be part of a stepped care approach and will work with clients who present with depression and sometimes comorbid anxiety for which counselling is demonstrated to be clinically effective and appropriate.

A percentage of clinical contact hours will include counselling suitability assessments, the number of these will be determined by the Clinical Lead. Assessments and treatments will be provided face to face and by videocall/telephone in line with client preference and as approved by the Clinical Lead.

The postholder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages using interpreters when necessary and will work in various community locations e.g. GP surgeries.

Hybrid working is considered with a minimum of 3 or part time equivalent days in the community. This requirement is subject to change in the future.
