our current position is for someone who is available to work during the day with the occasional nighttime shift if required.

This would be from 10AM-2PM. Please only apply if you are able to work these times all year round not just subject to school holidays.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This position requires excellent time management skills, basic maths abilities, and a keen understanding of food safety practices. Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately. Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation. Upsell menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily specials to provide informed recommendations. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards at all times. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, utilising basic maths skills for calculations. Support kitchen staff as needed during busy periods to ensure timely service. Keep the counter area tidy and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not essential. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting. Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing orders accurately. Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage. Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
