Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to upsell menu items effectively, ensuring a positive dining experience for our customers.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders, providing information about menu items. Help with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area and kitchen workspace. Upsell additional items to enhance the customer's experience and maximise sales. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for processing payments. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of food. Assist in restocking supplies as needed, ensuring that all items are readily available for service.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to help customers effectively. Basic culinary knowledge and understanding of food safety practices. Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently. Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and service.
