Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team in a traditional butcher shop. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while assisting with food preparation, serving and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. Your ability to manage time effectively and learn on the go will benefit our business And yourself. You must be well presented and be able to adhere to our uniform and safety policies.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and serve them accurately. Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items meet our quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the counter and throughout the premises. Handle cash and card transactions and process payments efficiently. Provide knowledgeable recommendations to enhance customer experience, however we Do not expect you to be able to do this immediately. Adhere to food safety regulations and ensure compliance with health standards. Collaborate with other staff to ensure timely service and order fulfilment. Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed during shifts.

Skills

Experience in a restaurant or food preparation environment or similar is advantageous. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders. Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods. Have completed a food hygiene course or be willing to enrol. Culinary skills or experience in food preparation will be beneficial but not required. Ability to assist customers with a friendly attitude and provide help as needed.
