As a
Medicines Counter Assistant
you will be the first person patients meet when coming into the pharmacy, speak to when seeking healthcare advice (referring to the Pharmacy team when appropriate) and interact with when collecting a prescription or ask for help when they wish to purchase a medicine.
The right candidate for this role must have excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. They also need to be able to work well under pressure, have good computer skills, and be familiar with basic medication handling procedure or willing to learn this information quickly. Cash handling is also required.

You will also manage all retail stock and communication with patients including updating our IT system and answering the phone. Other duties will include keeping the pharmacy clean, tidy and organised.
While a Medicines Counter Assistant qualification would be useful we will also consider candidates who have experience in a healthcare, reception or retail management setting or are just willing to give a new challenge a go. This is an excellent entry opportunity into Community Pharmacy. Full training will be given so candidates without a MCA qualification will need to undertake this training course.
This role is currently maternity cover therefore will be a temporary contract of one year (although other opportunities within the team may arise in future for any promising candidates).
For more information please don't hesitate to get in touch via email. Please do not contact the pharmacy directly. Interviews may be held via telephone and then the final round will take place at the pharmacy.
