Atherstone Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy which has grown over the last decade in volume and size to adapt to the needs of the local community.
We are now recruiting full or part time staff preferably with pharmacy experience, NHS experience or retail experience. This is a great opportunity for some one to join our team and further their opportunities.
As part of the local needs our pharmacy offers a number of services to patients including NMS, Flu vaccinations, COVID vaccine, CPCS minor illness , CPCS urgent supply, CPCS GP referrals, DMS other new services have been applied for. You will actively be involved in supporting Pharmacist provide these services.
Pharmacy Counter Assistant/ Dispenser
Serving customers at the counter. It will help if you've worked in a pharmacy before but don't worry if you haven't as the team will support your development
Handing out prescriptions already done by dispensary
Helping our customers diarise their requests for prescriptions so they don't run out of medicines
Ordering retail goods for shop floor
Ordering counter items for the pharmacy
Answering phone calls and making appointments
Checking off stock and pricing
Keeping premises clean and tidy
Having good spoken and written English, be able to have basic knowledge of Word and excellent telephone manner and enjoy being customer-facing are essential qualities of the job .

Progression
For the right candidate we will be offer training to progress to a Pharmacy Dispenser, to support our Pharmacy. We prefer some one with experience but may consider giving training to the right individual.
The job role depending upon your qualifications includes:
taking in and handing out prescriptions
dispensing prescriptions
using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
ordering items
receiving, loading, unloading deliveries
selling over-the-counter medicines
answering customers questions face to face or by phone
pre-packing blisters, assembling and labelling medicines
preparing medicines
referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
Promoting NHS services
Accuracy Checking
You will be required to support the Pharmacy team to provide NHS services .
Key Skills and Characteristics required :
It would be an advantage if you have worked in a customer service role
