Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Counter Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, handling materials, and providing excellent customer service at the counter. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in warehouse management, materials handling, and logistics within a dynamic environment. The position requires physical capability for heavy lifting and mechanical aptitude to assist with various operational tasks.

Duties

Assist customers at the counter with orders and enquiries, ensuring a high standard of service Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified Manage shipping and receiving processes efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control Operate warehouse management systems to track stock levels, process orders, and update records Handle materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies Support warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and organisation of stock Collaborate with team members to ensure timely fulfilment of orders and smooth warehouse operations Assist with mechanical troubleshooting or minor repairs as needed during daily operations

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary procedures Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or construction environments is beneficial Mechanical knowledge or experience with forklift operation (certification preferred) is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods Practical understanding of warehouse organisation and logistics processes
