Courier/delivery Driver
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Courier to join our friendly team based at Eurocentral on a Self Employed basis.
As a Courier, you will be responsible for delivering small packages in a small van to various locations within Lanarkshire. The ideal candidate should have experience as a delivery driver and needs to be reliable.
Van, phone, uniform and fuel card provided. Van is to be kept at your home address to be used for travel to and from the depot and to your place of work to complete your duties.
This is a Tuesday to Saturday backshift job. Typical hours are 10am - 7pm but you may finish earlier/later based on your route that day. Rest days are Sunday and Monday. Overtime is often available and is optional.
3 days unpaid classroom training must be completed prior to starting this role.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently drive a commercial van to deliver packages
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries - Deliver parcels within the window period
- Load and unload packages from the van
- Ensure packages are securely stored during transportation and safely delivered to our customers
- Communicate with customers to provide exceptional customer service
- Complete delivery process on provided device to maintain accurate delivery records
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role would be preferred but not essential as training is provided
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to drive a commercial van safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
