We are seeking an experienced and proactive Court of Protection Associate/ Solicitor to join our growing and vibrant Court of Protection Team based in London. We are also open to considering career paralegals with significant experience in COP work for a Senior Case Manager position.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a leading private client firm, advising on complex mental capacity matters and supporting vulnerable individuals and their families with sensitivity, professionalism, and care.

About the Role



You will play a key role in managing and developing a varied caseload of property and affairs Court of Protection matters, often involving high-value estates and intricate financial arrangements. You will liaise closely with professional stakeholders, family members, and other advisers, ensuring that clients receive clear, practical, and compassionate support.

Our team handles all aspects of deputyship administration, capacity disputes, and COP applications, working collaboratively to deliver exceptional service to clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities



Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision and supporting senior team members in complex or contentious cases Drafting and managing a wide range of Court of Protection applications, including: Deputyship and trusteeship appointments Statutory Wills, gifts, and lifetime planning applications Applications for the sale or purchase of property Contested capacity matters and related disputes Acting for and supporting lay and professional deputies, attorneys, and families in managing the financial affairs of vulnerable clients Liaising with clients, medical professionals, financial institutions, and the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) Preparing detailed budgets, reports, and supporting documentation for the Court and OPG For senior candidates: contributing to supervision, workflow management, and training of junior team members

About You



Solicitor or Associate with 2-6 years PQE in Court of Protection (applications from career paralegals with significant COP experience will also be considered) Solid experience in drafting and managing COP applications and liaising with the OPG Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines Strong client communication skills with a compassionate and professional approach A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable clients and their families For more senior applicants: proven ability to supervise others and assist in team development
