The highly regarded team represent vulnerable adults lacking mental capacity, working closely with their litigation friends or family members, to ensure their rights and best interests are safeguarded in health and welfare proceedings.

Role Overview:

As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will play a vital role in handling health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection. You will manage cases involving applications under s16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and s21A appeals to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Your expertise in this area will be integral to advocating for the well-being and care of vulnerable individuals and ensuring their rights are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a diverse caseload of health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection.
- Represent vulnerable adults lacking mental capacity through their litigation friends or family members.
- Handle applications under s16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and s21A appeals to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Conduct capacity assessments and provide expert legal advice on complex issues.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, social workers, and relevant authorities to advocate for clients\' best interests.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.

Requirements:

- Qualified Solicitor with a strong background in Court of Protection law.
- Experience in health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection.
- Knowledge of applications under s16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and s21A appeals to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to clients.
