Cover Nursery Manager

A fantastic opportunity to gain multisite experience before stepping in to an area manager role.

Location:

Across all Little Years Nurseries (York & Ryedale)

Reports to:

Senior Leadership Team

Purpose of the Role:

To provide consistent and high-quality leadership across the Little Years Nurseries group by covering for Nursery Managers during periods of absence. You will work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to ensure smooth day-to-day running of settings, uphold our values, and support staff, children, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Cover:

Step into the role of Nursery Manager during periods of absence, maintaining high standards of care, education, and compliance.

Team Support:

Lead and support nursery teams, promoting positive practice, motivation, and staff well-being in line with Little Years' values.

Operational Oversight:

Ensure the effective running of nursery operations including safeguarding, health & safety, staff deployment, and communication with families.

Consistency Across Settings:

Bring a consistent approach to leadership across all sites, building strong relationships with each team and sharing best practice.

Support Development:

Work closely with the wider management team to identify areas for improvement and contribute to continuous development plans.

Safeguarding & Compliance:

Champion safeguarding practices and ensure all settings meet Ofsted and EYFS statutory requirements.

What We're Looking For:

Level 3 or above in Early Years Education (Level 5+ desirable) Proven experience in a leadership or management role in early years Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks Flexible, adaptable, and confident working across multiple settings Excellent communication and people skills A nurturing, reflective, and collaborative approach

Pay: 28,000.00-33,000.00 per year
