Key Responsibilities

Supervise lessons during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring work set is completed in line with academy expectations. Manage classroom behaviour effectively to provide a purposeful learning environment. Support students with their learning and respond to questions about tasks and procedures. Follow academy behaviour and safeguarding policies, dealing with concerns or emergencies appropriately. Collect completed work and provide feedback to the relevant teacher. Report on pupil behaviour, engagement and progress using agreed referral systems. Build positive relationships with students and staff, promoting high expectations and the academy's values. Take an active role during Review Days and in wider school life. When not required for cover, provide additional classroom or administrative support. On occasion--and with agreement--cover longer-term absence, including planning, feedback and assessment.
