Salary: 9,999 per annum
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time Cover Supervisor to join our fantastic team at CHS South.
This is a part time temporary post for 5 months initially, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is 9,999 and the full time equivalent is 29,064 Grade 5. You will be working 14 hours per week and working days are Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday, depending on availability.
We're looking for:

  • We are seeking a confident, adaptable and proactive individual who enjoys working with young people and is committed to supporting their learning. The successful candidate will be able to manage classroom behaviour effectively, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Experience in a school setting is desirable, but not essential, we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds who are passionate about education and making a difference.
  • You will ensure continuity of learning, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
As Cover Supervisor you will complement the professional work of teachers by delivering agreed learning activities to whole classes during short-term staff absences.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback on student progress and behaviour.
  • Support curriculum areas and contribute to resource development.
  • Assist with classroom displays and general teaching support.
  • Undertake break and lunchtime duties as part of the school rota.
  • Accompany students on educational visits and trips.
  • Support other areas of the school when cover demand is low.
Essential qualifications & experience:
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or higher)
  • Experience working with or caring for children or young people
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and basic learning strategies
  • A calm, adaptable and positive approach to managing student behaviour
