GSL Education is seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors to support mixed, nonselective schools in Newcastle, starting immediately or from September 2023. Responsibilities:
As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Classroom Supervision: Overseeing classes across various subjects in the absence of a teacher.
• Work Facilitation: Ensuring that students engage with pre-planned coursework.
• Behavior Management: Creating a safe and conducive learning environment by effectively managing student behavior.
• Collaboration: Coordinating with other staff members to access necessary teaching materials and resources.
• Feedback: Providing feedback to the regular class teacher regarding student attendance, engagement, and completion of assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:
To thrive as a Cover Supervisor, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Educational Background: Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher, or be a Graduate interested in pursuing a career in education.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
• Professional Development: Willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional growth.
• Empathy: Ability to connect with young people and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Adaptability: Capability to use your initiative, work flexibly, and respond effectively to various situations.
• Clearances: An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to undergo the process with GSL Education.
• Work History: A comprehensive and verifiable work history.
