ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our support staff team at Gosforth Junior High Academy. You will work closely with our Senior Learning and Pastoral Supervisors and other support staff to provide support to students in our school. First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and is a creative, 'hands on' colleague. You will be empathetic and practical in equal measure, yet firm when needing to challenge student behaviour. Ideally, you will have experience working within a school environment or experience of working with young people in another context.
Primarily, the role will include day to day cover for classes when a teacher is absent as well as supervising our students in isolation/internal exclusion however, it will also sometimes involve some general small group work/intervention for students as directed by the class teacher. Before and after school, the role will entail duties or running clubs for students.
Inspected in November 2023, the school was awarded a 'Good' rating by Ofsted citing that we have high ambitions and expectations of our students and that they are exceptionally well behaved. We strongly recommend you read our report, which can be found here.
