Excelsior Academy, part of Laidlaw Schools Trust, is seeking a

Cover Supervisor

to provide classroom supervision in the absence of teachers. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a school setting--perfect for aspiring teachers or those with a passion for working with young people.

The main role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students follow the teacher's lesson plan. This key individual will maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe, respectful learning environment, they will also provide students with necessary support to complete tasks but not actively teach or assess work.

We are looking for an individual who is confident in managing groups of students in a classroom setting. This individual will have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to follow instructions and enforce school policies. They will also be professional, responsible and able to work independently.

This is a term time role paying: 26,409 - 27,711 (FTE) 22,319 - 23,419 (actual salary)

Excelsior Academy was opened in 2008 and became the first All Through school in Newcastle, offering education to pupils from 3 to 19 years of age. Excelsior serves one of the most challenging communities both in the region and nationally. All pupils in our primary, secondary and sixth form provision have access to the same high-quality teaching, exceptional facilities and fabulous resources. Our purpose-built building provides excellent facilities for the 1500+ pupils who study here. Approximately 200 pupils attend our primary school, 1100 in the secondary phase and 180 in the sixth form. We are a popular choice for our local community and are now oversubscribed in most year groups.
