We are seeking experienced
Cover Supervisors
to work across a range of secondary schools and specialist settings in the Bristol area. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who have strong classroom management skills and a solid understanding of supporting students with a range of learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, using positive behaviour strategies.
Support students with SEN and ALN, adapting approaches where necessary to engage and include all learners.
Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere and encourage student participation.
Liaise with SENCOs, teaching staff, and support staff to ensure students' needs are met.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and any issues during cover lessons.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience working in a secondary school or specialist provision.
Experience supporting students with
SEN and ALN
(e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH).
Strong behaviour management and classroom control skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to be flexible, calm, and proactive in a dynamic school environment.
A genuine interest in education and student wellbeing.
Desirable:
Degree or relevant education-based qualification.
Experience working in PRUs or alternative provisions.
Team Teach or behaviour management training (not essential but beneficial).
