An opportunity has arisen for you to join our highly focused, dedicated staff in the role of Cover Teacher. As Cover Teacher you will implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for students with support from academy staff during short term absence of class teachers.

The opportunity

Delivering the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach. Being responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate. Establishing a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment for students, rooted in mutual respect and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly

The successful candidate will be:

Essential

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching and inspiring students. Clarity of purpose and student-centred vision Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour

Experience of delivering engaging and effective lessons in a secondary school setting
