The Northamptonshire Centre for Counselling Studies (NCCS) is an award-winning counselling training centre delivering CPCAB-accredited qualifications. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of counselling education and are proud to be known as a "gatekeeper" to the profession.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate

Person-Centred Counselling Tutor

to deliver our CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills course online from

January to June 2026

. Teaching will take place on

Wednesday evenings (6-9pm)

with

four Saturday sessions

(9:30am-5pm).

All schemes of work, session plans, and resources are provided and must be followed to ensure consistency with CPCAB quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, person-centred teaching and skills practice. Mark and provide constructive feedback on student work. Support learners' academic and personal development. Participate in team meetings, moderation, and standardisation processes. Uphold NCCS values, policies, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Essential Requirements

Qualified practising counsellor with

a minimum of two years' post-qualification supervised experience

.

Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or equivalent)

.

Minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)

. Experience teaching or assessing

CPCAB counselling courses

. Member of a

PSA-recognised professional body

(e.g. BACP, NCPS). Confident IT user (Google Suite).

You'll bring a passion for counselling, a commitment to high standards, and a genuine enthusiasm for facilitating learning. You'll be organised, reflective, and confident in working both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Do you have a working knowledge of Google Drive and Google Classroom? Are you currently practicing as a counsellor? Do you hold a minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or equivalent and are at least 2 years post-qualification? Do you have working knowledge of the person-centred theoretical concepts? Do you hold a Level 3 Certificate in Teaching and Education? Do you have experience of teaching and assessing CPCAB counselling courses? Are you a member of the BACP, NCPS or another professional body that is registered with the PSA? Do you have a GCSE in English Language or equivalent?
