Job Overview



We are currently seeking an experienced Crane Operator (Dual-Skilled - Mechanical & Electrical) to join our offshore operations team in the UK. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled professional with extensive offshore experience who is capable of not only operating offshore cranes but also carrying out first-line mechanical and electrical maintenance.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of offshore crane operation experience, combined with strong technical expertise in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, ensuring safe and reliable lifting operations in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities



Operate offshore cranes safely within design limits, considering weather and sea states, in accordance with lift plans and risk assessments. (Stage 3 Crane Operator certification or equivalent). Carry out first-line maintenance (electrical and mechanical), including planned maintenance routines up to and including 6-month checks. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance checks to ensure safe and efficient crane performance. Supervise and support mechanical work scopes as directed by onshore engineering. Ensure crane integrity is maintained in line with client maintenance standards. Record and report crane availability according to client performance requirements. Complete pre-use inspections, daily logs, trip reports, and crane logbooks. Maintain accurate data entry into the client's maintenance management system. Report all incidents and near misses promptly to offshore management. Plan and coordinate maintenance routines, spares, and platform resources in alignment with asset plans. Adhere to all HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) regulations and company policies. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and safety teams to ensure seamless offshore operations. Ensure good housekeeping standards in crane cabins and machinery spaces. Conduct familiarization and competency assessments for non-resident crane personnel. Provide thorough handovers at the end of each rotation. Undertake emergency response duties as required.

Requirements



Minimum 10-15 years offshore experience as a Crane Operator. Valid Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator Certificate (OPITO or equivalent). Stage III Crane Operator Certificate (with valid 2-year assessment). Radio Operator Licence. Valid CompEx Certificate. Strong background in mechanical systems (hydraulics, engines, structural components). Proven knowledge of electrical systems (control systems, sensors, troubleshooting). BOSIET / FOET certification or equivalent offshore safety training. Proven experience in lifting equipment environments. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Self-motivated, safety-focused, and decisive in lifting operations. Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
