To support effective workshop practice

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

To keep workshop clean and tidy and ensure standards of hygiene are met and maintained To assist lecturers in all practical classes across campuses Be responsible for equipment, first aid requisites, fitting and consumables Log and control all tools and equipment in and out of the stores To repair and maintain machines and tooling Keep and control inventory and stock of all tools, machines and fittings To check that all equipment is in a safe working order at all times and support with recording COSH Liaise with Curriculum Leaders in ordering tools, fittings, consumables and keep accurate budgetary records. Develop work areas and rigs for student Carry out and create risk assessment documentation. Plan and progress a series of jobs, keeping the line manager informed of activity Attend and contribute to the section meetings Prepare materials for classes as requested by teaching staff Work in other trade areas for the effective support of students and cover for absent colleagues. Maintain high standards of health and safety in own work and in the workshop area

The remit will outline the key focus areas for each faculty and will be subject to review by the College to reflect the goals, aims and strategic objectives and priorities within FE and the College.

Curriculum departments are grouped into faculties. The Head of School has a primary responsibility for the specific department and of individuals within a team, while the Faculty Head holds primary responsibility for the whole faculty and its targets.
