Location: PQA Cardiff (Saturday Performing Arts Academy)

Working Hours: Saturdays during term time 9.30-1.30

Start Date: Saturday 6th September

Age Requirement: 18+

About Us

PQA Cardiff is a vibrant and inspiring Saturday performing arts academy delivering high-quality training in Musical Theatre, TV & Film, and Comedy & Drama to young people aged 6-18. Our students develop performance skills, creativity, and confidence in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. We are part of the national Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) network and are proud to offer professional training while celebrating individuality and imagination.

We're looking for a Creative Arts Assistant to join our friendly and professional team in Cardiff. This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain experience in performing arts education, build industry connections, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young creatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the smooth running of academy sessions across all age groups (6-18). Welcome students and parents, providing excellent front-of-house service. Assist with classroom setup, workshop content, and student engagement. Step in to support teaching staff when needed, especially during creative exercises or rehearsals. Help facilitate a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment. Proactively contribute to the overall energy and positivity of the academy day. Provide occasional administrative or backstage support during performances and filming projects.
Essential Skills & Experience

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. A proactive, can-do attitude - you're someone who steps in before being asked. A background in the creative arts - theatre, film, music, performance, or similar. Previous experience working with children or young people. Enthusiastic, supportive, and collaborative - a real team player. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already holds one).
Desirable (but not essential)

Experience working with SEND students. Knowledge of trauma-informed practice. Filmmaking experience (e.g., camera work, editing, on-set assistant). Interest in developing a career in arts education or creative production.
