Reporting to the Senior Creative Strategy Lead, the Creative Strategy Exec plays a key role in developing standout, culturally resonant advertising experiences across the Channel 4 ecosystem - from live TV to Streaming and Social platforms.
Highly curious, with a passion for insights, creativity and storytelling, you'll collaborate with a diverse range of brands and agencies helping to shape marketing campaigns turning creative ideas into broadcast quality creative. You'll bring creative flair and a collaborative mindset to every brief - whether it's a major brand campaign or quick turnaround response.
A creative thinker, confident in proactive and reactive ideation, you'll work closely with Channel 4 sales teams, commissioning, external production partners and in-house teams 4Studio and 4Creative. You'll be obsessed with storytelling - showing advertisers how ideas can be bought to life through the unique tone, talent and power of Channel 4.
As a public service broadcaster who is 'Altogether Different' your ideas will uphold the brand cachet of Channel 4 whilst incorporating and balancing the commercial needs of advertisers.
You'll be able to effectively prioritise tasks and have a passion for problem solving and collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Strategy Development
: Own end to end development of proposals with ideas that are aligned to brand briefs through clear goals, research, rationale, strategies and tactics. Navigate the push and pull between client needs and creative dreams, acting as the problem-solving bridge between creative and revenue.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Commissioning and Production, ensuring responses and proactive ideas meet Channel 4 creative standards and advertiser timelines.
Work closely with the Senior Creative Strategy Lead to deliver holistic Channel 4 responses and compelling story led narratives on allocated RFP's.
Participate in and help shape collaborative, purposeful brainstorms.
Efficiently multi-task, managing timelines and projects at different life stages.
Support in the evaluation of campaign effectiveness working closely with creative strategy peers and Measurement and Insights.
Seek regular feedback to aid learning and surface relevant, incremental opportunities that drive revenue and innovation.
Scaling Creativity
: Be an advocate for culturally led creativity within Channel 4 Sales, suggesting ways to inspire in team and client meetings and external workshops. Deliver narrative driven presentations and dynamic workshops that convey Channel 4's advertising proposition effectively.
Work with the Senior Creative Strategy Lead to support different tiers of advertisers through varied initiatives and production support.
Seek out and attend relevant industry events to aid ongoing learning, ensuring Channel 4 is at the forefront of creative and cultural discourse. Regularly distil and share key themes with Channel 4 Sales teams.
Contribute to ideas repository collateral, including performance data to support insight piece development, external creative sessions and case study development.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Experience in a creative, planning or strategy role within a media owner, publisher, platform, agency or brand environment.
Strong understanding of broadcaster partnerships and branded entertainment across linear and social channels.
A multi-tasker with excellent problem-solving skills; focused on 'getting things done'
A motivated self-starter fully immersed in culture in order to inspire thinking that will resonate with mass audiences.
Broad range of creative skills, with experience crafting compelling, succinct ideas that can work across linear, streaming and social.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative culture, embracing change and effectively implementing feedback.

Hybrid working
From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
Having everyone in the office three days a week gives us more opportunity to build our high performing, inclusive culture; to collaborate and to learn and share with each other, as well as helping to coordinate a regular pattern of home and office working days.
