TCW is an alternative independent school providing bespoke education for students across Key Stages 1-5 who are unable to attend mainstream settings. Many of our students have SEND or have experienced school exclusion. We work across London, providing 1:1 and small group teaching in homes, centres, and libraries - always striving to reignite a love of learning in our students.

About the Role
We're on the hunt for a passionate and imaginative
Creative Teacher
to deliver exciting, meaningful lessons to students who haven't always felt inspired by education. Whether you're an artist, designer, performer, or multi-disciplinary creative, if you have experience teaching and want to work in a supportive, values-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you.
This role involves leading small groups and 1:1 sessions onsite at our South London and East London schools, guiding students through vocational and qualification-based creative projects. You'll also collaborate with and support a team of offsite teachers delivering complementary creative subjects - helping to shape a consistent and inspiring creative curriculum across TCW.
Want to work full time? You can supplement this role with core subject teaching (Maths, English, Science) across London.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, high-quality creative lessons to students in 1:1 and small group settings.
Adapt and personalise schemes of work to suit individual student interests, needs and abilities.
Supervise and support a team of offsite creative teachers, ensuring consistency and quality in delivery.
Oversee and track the creative progress of up to 20 assigned students.
Prepare and teach content aligned with qualifications (e.g. Unit Awards, Entry Level, GCSE), ensuring timely exam entries.
What We're Looking For
A creative background (art, design, media, etc.) and experience teaching students with SEND or behavioural needs.
Someone who's organised, adaptable, and genuinely cares about helping young people succeed.
Confidence in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons - tailoring content to students' interests and needs.
A true team player who enjoys collaboration, creativity, and doing things a little differently.
Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
A degree in a creative subject.
Real-world experience in a creative industry
Experience in a creative or alternative education environment

Training:
Induction Day:
One full day (9:00 am - 3:45 pm).
Induction Training Sessions:
Five Tuesday afternoons (4:30 - 6:00 pm).
Ongoing Professional Development:
Weekly sessions on Thursday afternoons (4:30 - 6:00 pm).
