Creative Technologist (ai Strategy Practice)

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Please note:

This is an advisory role - we are not looking for data scientists, engineers, or product delivery leads. You will advise on the how of AI implementation, not build it yourself. Applicants must have prior experience in a consulting, technology strategy, or innovation advisory environment.

Eligibility:

You must have the right to work in the UK.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced AI Technologist to join our growing AI Practice at This Place. You will work at the intersection of technology, strategy, and creativity, helping some of the world's best-known brands understand where AI can deliver value and what it takes to make it real inside their business.

This is not a delivery or engineering role. Instead, you will be a connector - someone who bridges technical depth with strategic vision. You'll translate complex AI concepts into business impact, guide non-technical leaders through implementation choices, and connect the creative ambition of marketing and brand with the realities of enterprise-scale AI build and integration.

You'll help clients imagine what's possible, conceptualise prototypes, and understand what data, APIs and environments are required to make those ideas tangible - all while ensuring data protection, governance, and compliance considerations are built in from the start.

Key responsibilities:

Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology, marketing and product leaders, translating between technical and commercial perspectives Bridge the gap between AI strategy and execution, helping clients understand the technologies underpinning AI systems (LLMs, multimodal models, APIs, data infrastructure, integrations) Advise on the technical feasibility, architecture and data requirements to bring AI concepts to life - from early prototypes to scalable enterprise solutions Evaluate emerging tools, frameworks, and platforms, identifying where they can add value to client use cases in marketing, product innovation, and business operations Collaborate closely with strategists, designers, and creatives to ensure technology insight informs ideas from the outset Translate complex technical issues (including data security, privacy and compliance) into clear, actionable guidance for business and creative stakeholders Design and facilitate workshops that help clients demystify AI, make informed build/buy decisions, and prioritise investments Create and present high-quality deliverables, including architecture outlines, implementation roadmaps, and technology playbooks Support internal upskilling and contribute to thought leadership, helping shape how This Place defines the future of AI-powered experiences

About you:

Overall 8 - 10 years in a role bridging technology and strategy - e.g. creative technology, digital transformation, AI/ML advisory, or innovation consulting. Ideally with 3+ years focused on AI Experience working with large-scale enterprise environments - you understand the realities of integrating new technologies into complex systems and cultures Strong grasp of how AI systems work (e.g. model architectures, data pipelines, cloud platforms, APIs, prompt engineering, evaluation techniques) and the ability to apply this knowledge through a business lens Able to imagine and outline prototype concepts, identifying the right data environments to make them real, and articulate their value to technical and non-technical audiences alike Skilled at translating the technical aspects of AI into strategic narratives for both clients and internal teams - both verbally and in writing (e.g. through the creation of simple, client-ready slidewear) You are confident, pragmatic, and commercially aware; equally comfortable debating system design with engineers or explaining model bias to a boardroom You have excellent general business acumen, exceptional problem solving skills, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills (in English) You are driven, responsible, highly proactive and self directed... ...and highly flexible, relaxed and resilient in fast-paced, highly changeable environments - we're a small business working in an industry that's moving at a rate of knots You are low-ego and collaborative. You understand that priorities shift, work evolves or changes direction, and feedback is an opportunity to improve. You seek input, stay curious, and see learning as part of the job - with a focus on improving rather than being right.

Location:

Candidates must be comfortable working remotely and, from 2026, from our London office. The role also requires flexibility to travel internationally and to take calls outside standard UK hours when necessary.

We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time.
