Advanced Systems Group LLC. is seeking a
Creative Video Editor
to sit within our clients' Global Studio Services team in London. This role focuses on creating high-quality video content for both the client's channels and external platforms. You will collaborate with IT, events, spectacles, marketing, and creative teams. The role requires a strong combination of technical editing skills and storytelling ability, transforming raw footage into polished and branded content. You will be involved in creative decision-making, working closely with the UK Studio Producer and cross-functional directors to assist with technical direction and overall visual storytelling from an editorial perspective.
This is a full-time position for 40/hr a week, Monday-Friday, working onsite in Central London.
Responsibilities:
Lead as well as assist in editing a wide range of video content, including but not limited to promotional videos, product explainers, social media ads, and internal communications.
Perform light colour correction, audio mixing, and assist with the development and or integration of motion graphics.
Act as a story producer ie, developing storyboards, paper edits, ensuring the narrative is cohesive, within brand guidelines and meets the goals of the production.
Assist and or lead as a post-producer, ensuring deliveries to cross-functional teams, as well as communicating and managing feedback
Work with the UK Studio Producer to define project scope, develop creative briefs and deliverables.
Organise and manage media assets, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
Assist and lead in developing and or updating workflow documentation for UK post-production processes
Collaborate and assist with design assets in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and 3D programs.
Use Jira to input post-production project data.
Communicate and provide technical direction with external post-production vendors, i.e. working with an MGFX artist or colourist to prep files or to ideate on creative/technical solutions.
Assist and or lead in developing post-production schedules
Research and implement trending video styles and techniques relevant to our audience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and objectives.
Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing software, hardware, and industry trends
Provide creative and technical insight and direction during the development and creative brainstorm process
Assist with the setup and shooting of video projects, which includes but is not limited to assistance with technical set-up, acting as a stand-in for framing shots, and running basic sound as and when needed.
Assist with or lead discovery meetings when the UK Studio Producer is out
Assist with lending cross-functional support to teams looking to use the Studio equipment inventory
Assist and or lead with Studio equipment inventory audits when the UK Studio Producer is out
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Final Cut Pro, and experience with associated proxy workflows
Good knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Figma and Photoshop
Good understanding of post management operations, including working knowledge of media delivery specs, video formats and codecs
Good understanding of cinematic editorial/camera language.
Strong story-producing skills with a keen eye for detail, strong storytelling abilities, and a good understanding of pacing and rhythm in video.
A self-starter who works well without supervision, approaches problem-solving proactively, with the ability to fix post issues quickly and maintain professionalism and communication
Great organisational skills; can shuffle tasks and resources while communicating with colleagues and external vendors
Experience working with production companies, post houses, studios or networks
Good knowledge of linear and nonlinear editing techniques, audio pre-lay and mixing methods, plus media file formats, animated graphics, and gear used in post-production processes
Experience in a deadline-driven post environment with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
A good understanding of audio, lighting, colour correction, motion graphics and keying footage
Excels at Google Suite applications
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience (2-4 years) in video editing, either through internships, freelance work, or academic projects
A strong portfolio or show reel demonstrating editing skills and creative potential, with an emphasis on short-form, engaging content
Preferred Qualifications:
A proven technical background in post-production
Post-production experience in tech media, streaming or creative marketing
Thorough understanding of motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
Experience with camera equipment
Experience with social media platforms and an understanding of short-form content creation
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn
Experience using project management software for production planning -
Jira
knowledge is a big plus
Strong attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of work and documentation.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams, including engineering, production, technical operations, and network operations, to ensure seamless support and resolution of technical issues

Compensation:
This full-time contract role offers a salary of
42,000-46,000
GBP, depending on experience. This role is eligible for statutory benefits.
