Role: Creative Web Development Engineer

Pay rate: \xc2\xa3500 to \xc2\xa3600 per day (PAYE \xe2\x80\x93 Inside IR35) + Holiday pay

Start: Immediate

Location: Central London \xe2\x80\x93 Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in the office

Expected duration: 3 Months

Our client is a global technology leader, their advertising division provided services to some of the world\xe2\x80\x99s most renowned brands in Food and Beverage, Entertainment (Movie Production Houses, Toy manufacturers, and more). They are looking for a creative web development engineer to join their team.

You will work on high profile advertising campaigns that span countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan. Your work looks to push the boundaries of what is possible in the browser and on their platform. Your work will be featured across the organisations mobile shopping app, Tablet, desktop, and TV device properties and used by shopping customers across the globe.

You will own the estimating and building of new website landing pages. You will use modern and established web development technologies such as ReactJS, Webpack, Eslint, Postcss and more. You will use these technologies and a solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create performant and accessible web page experiences. You will work together with designers, design technologists and program managers to define, estimate and deliver the advertising campaigns which feature the web pages you build.

Key job responsibilities

  • Estimate how to build user interfaces for the web
  • Clarify requirements with designers and program managers
  • Deliver high-quality projects, using modern front-end development technologies
A day in the life
  • Clarify design elements in the user interface you are building
  • Update your project\xe2\x80\x99s code-base, defining and editing ReactJS components and associated styling rules.
  • Test your code across browsers
  • Address any bugs found by our Quality Assurance (QA) team
Requirements
  • Links to a portfolio, live projects or code repos for professional work where you owned a significant amount of the development.
  • 3+ years of professional experience building and supporting customer facing UX across multiple devices, webviews, and browsers in a web tech stack (HTML, CSS, JS).
  • Experience using React or a comparable JS framework like Vue, Ember or Angular to build responsive/adaptive, component-based UI.
  • Experience using JS libraries to animate user-interfaces like anime.js, Framer Motion, and React-Spring.
  • Experience using JS APIs to retrieve and parse XML/JSON data from a server.
  • Understanding of client-side performance and how to mitigate latency issues.
  • Ability and interest in participating in the full campaign development lifecycle \xe2\x80\x94 including scoping of eZort, parsing requirements, web development, code reviews, and testing across browsers and devices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in advertising.
  • Experience communicating requirements and technical designs with users, other technical/non-technical teams and management.
  • Experience inquencing software engineering approaches and culture within your team.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and ability to convert ambiguous requirements to structured solutions and actions.
