Job Description

This position calls for a skilled Credit Controller to oversee and manage credit accounts within the industrial and manufacturing sector. The role is based in Birmingham and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of the accounting and finance team.

  • Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimise overdue balances.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies effectively and efficiently.
  • Liaise with clients to address payment queries and maintain positive relationships.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on outstanding debts and credit control performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate invoicing and account information.
  • Implement credit control policies and processes to improve cash flow.
  • Support the accounting and finance department with ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of communication with customers and payment history.
A credit controller is required on a 12 month fixed term contract in Birmingham.This position is on a hybrid basis.
A successful Credit Controller should have:
  • Previous experience in a credit control or similar accounting and finance role.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving account discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of the industrial and manufacturing sector is advantageous.
