Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team, supporting our accounts department, with a primary focus on ensuring timely payment collection from debtors. The successful candidate will manage the credit control process, prevent dispatch of goods to clients with overdue balances, and assist with bookkeeping tasks, including payment reconciliation. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a proactive attitude toward learning and expanding bookkeeping expertise.

Duties

Oversee the credit control process, ensuring all debtors pay their accounts on time by sending invoices and reminders for overdue payments. Monitor accounts to prevent dispatch of goods to clients with outstanding or overdue balances. Conduct regular analysis of accounts to identify overdue debts and assess credit risk. Communicate with clients via phone and email to discuss payment terms, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment plans when necessary. Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling payments and ensuring accurate financial records. Maintain precise records of all transactions and communications in the accounting system. Collaborate with the finance team, particularly supporting Arslan, to ensure accurate data entry and financial reporting. Provide regular updates to management on account statuses, highlighting overdue accounts, trends, or potential issues.
Experience

Previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role is essential. Familiarity with bookkeeping processes, such as payment reconciliation, and a willingness to develop further skills in this area. Proficiency in accounting software and strong data entry skills with a keen eye for detail. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make informed decisions. Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for effective client interactions. A proactive problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within the finance team.
