Credit Controller / Finance Assistant

Job Description

Based within a thriving team in the Finance Department, the Credit Controller / Finance Assistant will successfully liaise with the company's customers to ensure payments are made within agreed terms, complete the weekly payroll and support the Accounts Payable team.

Key responsibilities and duties



Proactive involvement with debtors so that overdue balances are kept to a minimum Performing the role of credit controller to recover overdue payment Daily banking entry Liaise with customer contacts whilst building relationships Maintain financial and administrative security by following internal accounting controls and administrative procedures Assist with Accounts Payable team, with chasing invoice queries and processing of invoices. maintaining and improving the integrity of the data Interpret instructions and issues arising, and then implement actions according to the company's policies and procedures Participate in meetings and activities Take credit/debit card payments Monitor and update Direct Debit portal Monitor and maintain the automated credit control processes Complete the weekly payroll Report on progress and work towards targets Ad hoc reporting to support the Finance team

Key Skills



Previous experience in a busy accounts' team Team player Good working knowledge of current accounting software systems Good IT skills Ability to prioritise and multi task to meet deadlines High degree of confidentiality, high level of accuracy and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, both on the phone and face-to-face Strong teamwork skills are essential Any associated qualifications or the flexibility to attend any training as required
