Nightshift Pest Control was formed in 2013 specialising in both reactive and proactive preventative pest control across London and the UK with a varied client portfolio to include Airports, famous Department Stores, 5-star Hotels, Casinos and Restaurant Chains, Universities, Councils, NHS Trusts, Housing Associations, and government contracts. Service delivery is at the heart of everything we do. Our offices are based in the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells (5-minute walk from station).

Job Summary:

We are looking for a part-time Credit Controller to join our close-knit finance team for 8-10 hours across two days each week. In this important role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our credit and collections processes. Your main focus will be to ensure timely payments, minimize the risk of bad debts, and build positive relationships with our customers. As the primary contact for outstanding debts, you will collaborate with both the finance team and customers to resolve payment issues, ensuring that accounts align with our credit terms and policies.

You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on improving cash flow and reducing financial risk, all while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Regularly review accounts receivable aging reports. Actively manage overdue accounts to minimize outstanding balances. Contact customers via phone or email to remind them of overdue payments and follow up on pending invoices. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage timely payments. Provide solutions for customers who may be struggling to meet payment terms. Clearly communicate payment terms, policies, and expectations to customers. Develop and enforce credit control policies to mitigate financial risks while ensuring compliance with regulations. Keep accurate records of all customer communications and collection activities. Prepare regular reports for management, including outstanding debts and aging reports. Ensure customer accounts are up-to-date, addressing discrepancies promptly. Prepare and issue monthly statements. Report directly to the Finance Manager.
Experience:

At least 3-5 years of experience in credit control or a similar financial role is preferred.
Skills:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Proficient in accounting software (SAGE 50) and MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Working Conditions:

Location: Office-based in Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells. Hours: 8-10 hours per week, spread across two days. Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
