About the role




An exciting opportunity to join Southern Hospice Group (SHG) finance team in a brand new Credit Controller role. The Credit Controller will be responsible for Management of the Southern Hospice Group Debtors ledger with particular focus on Martlets Care customers. Tasks will include processing of invoices and payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing to the ledgers, along with proactive cash collection and risk management. Reconciliation of the Aged Debtor control account, debtors' suspense, and preparation of any month end reports.


The successful candidate will have experience working within a busy finance team as a credit controller and be used to managing the end-to-end invoice to cash process. The role requires someone who can deal with SHG customers with professionalism and empathy whilst chasing outstanding debts and managing cash inflows for the group.


This role is fixed term for 6 months, with an option to extend.


It is anticipated that inteviews will take place w/c 13 October 2025.


Essential criteria




Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent. Preferably completed or studying Association of Accounting Technicians qualification to level 2 Qualified by experience Experience of working in a busy financial environment. Experience in using an accounting software system. Working within an environment where you are required to work within key legislation and boundaries. Balancing multiple activities effectively Prioritising multiple activities Demonstrating great communication skills both verbal and written with a high attention for detail. Numerate and proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook Able to demonstrate good keyboard skills whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate with a wide range of people. Able to work on own initiative, proactively and able to identify where it is necessary to escalate work or queries. Ability to prioritise tasks and complete them in a calm and timely manner Comfortable in entering and using data and databases in everyday duties.
