We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to manage customers accounts and chase outstanding payments .The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Duties
Contact clients via phone, email, or letter to follow up on outstanding invoices and negotiate payment arrangements where necessary
Maintain accurate records of all communication and payment activities within the accounting software
Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies or disputes efficiently
Prepare regular ageing reports and provide updates to management on debt recovery progress
Assist with month-end closing procedures related to receivables
Set up and monitor payment plans where required
Work closely with sales and finance teams
Reduce debtor days and improve cash collection performance
Experience
Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management within a similar environment
Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable
Knowledge of accounts payable processes is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and detail oriented
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client interactions and strong negotiation skills
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to remain professional and calm under pressure
Experience working with B2B customers
