Credit Hire Lead - MPL Legal

As Credit Hire Lead, you will take direct responsibility for supervising and managing a team of handlers working across litigated credit hire claims. The role combines technical oversight, team leadership, and a strong focus on proactive case resolution and client service.

The individual will need strong technical knowledge of credit hire litigation, coupled with a proven track record of delivering results through a strategic, opponent-led handling approach.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Supervising and supporting a small team handling litigated credit hire files Providing technical guidance and ensuring consistency in legal approach Conducting performance and probationary reviews Managing attendance, team engagement, and well-being Communicating key updates from senior management Coaching and developing team members in line with the MPL Legal career framework Monitoring team performance and financial metrics to ensure targets are met Overseeing efficient case progression and timely resolution Maintaining client focus while managing risk and commercial considerations Escalating compliance or risk issues in collaboration with the Team Partner Allocating workload strategically based on skills and technical capability Addressing complaints and managing escalated matters professionally
This role will also involve contributing to the broader development of the department and supporting strategic initiatives as MPL Legal continues to grow.
