You'll handle a full caseload of criminal matters from the police station through to the courts, providing expert legal advice, advocacy, and support to clients at every stage. Salary:
35,000 - 40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (with on-call duties, time back in lieu)
What You'll Be Doing
Represent clients during police interviews and throughout the criminal process.
Manage your own caseload from initial instruction through to trial or resolution.
Prepare detailed case files, statements, and legal submissions.
Advocate effectively in the Magistrates' Court and liaise with Counsel for Crown Court cases.
Ensure full compliance with LAA and SRA requirements.
Deliver an exceptional standard of client care while maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales).
Police Station Accreditation
- essential.
Proven experience handling a broad range of criminal defence cases.
Confident working independently and managing competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A client-focused, professional approach.
Knowledge of
Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire
criminal courts.
Desirable
Duty Solicitor status.
Familiarity with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) billing and compliance.
Full UK driving licence and own transport.
Qualifications
Law degree (LLB) or equivalent.
LPC or SQE qualification.
Police Station Accreditation certificate.
