Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Crisis Support Worker to provide immediate assistance and ongoing support to children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises, trauma, or behavioral challenges. This role involves working closely with diverse populations, including children with developmental disabilities or autism. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, crisis intervention, and clinical counseling techniques, with a commitment to patient-centered care and confidentiality. Duties



Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate stabilization and emotional support Conduct patient assessments to determine needs and appropriate interventions Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and trauma-informed care (including PTSD care) Implement crisis intervention strategies based on best practices in mental health and behavioral health fields Collect and document medical records, patient data, and treatment progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations using appropriate medical terminology and CPT coding when applicable Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, and community resources for case management and discharge planning Engage in home & community care coordination for clients requiring ongoing support outside of clinical settings Manage intake procedures for new patients or clients seeking crisis support services Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress notes Participate in ongoing training related to trauma-informed care, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), ICD coding updates, behavior management techniques, and research initiatives

Qualifications



Prior experience in mental health counseling, social work, or behavioral therapy preferred; experience with children, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities highly desirable Knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-informed care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and crisis intervention techniques Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards Strong assessment skills for patient care planning and triage in acute care settings Experience working with diverse populations including those with PTSD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other developmental disabilities Excellent communication skills for patient intake, education, and collaboration with healthcare teams Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism Relevant certifications in crisis intervention or behavioral health preferred; valid driver's license may be required for community outreach roles
This position is integral to providing critical mental health services within a supportive environment dedicated to fostering recovery and resilience.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: 16.00-22.00 per hour
