We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced pre-hospital care to patients in urgent and critical situations. This role requires a professional with excellent clinical skills, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. The Paramedic will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring safety, and supporting the smooth operation of emergency response services.
Duties
Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions on-site or en route to medical facilities.
Provide advanced life support including airway management, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration.
Perform physical examinations and utilise physiology and anatomy knowledge to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Administer injections, medications, and perform critical interventions as required during emergencies.
Conduct patient care procedures such as vital sign monitoring, immobilisation, and wound management using aseptic techniques.
Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating proficient driving skills while adhering to traffic regulations.
Assist with triage in mass casualty incidents, prioritising patients based on severity of injuries.
Maintain detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatments administered, and interventions performed.
Ensure all equipment is maintained in sterile condition and ready for immediate use; assist with inventory checks.
Support hospital staff during patient handover by providing comprehensive reports on patient status and treatment provided.
Experience
Proven experience in a pre-hospital setting or hospital environment specialising in emergency or critical care.
Demonstrated proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS).
Experience administering injections, medication management, and performing physical examinations within a clinical setting.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
Prior experience with triage procedures and managing multiple casualties efficiently.
Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience driving emergency vehicles is preferred.
Physical fitness capable of performing heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving in demanding environments. Applicants should possess a commitment to delivering compassionate patient care while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. A background in hospital settings or critical care is highly desirable for this vital role within our emergency response team.
