We are seeking a dedicated CTEC Careers Advisor to deliver high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance to students across the Eastern Education Group. You will play a key role in supporting learners on construction and built environment pathways, helping them progress into employment within the construction industry or onto higher-level technical and professional courses. A background in the Construction and Building Services industry is desirable, and the role requires someone prepared to travel across the Eastern Region.
You will provide impartial one-to-one careers guidance, create accessible construction-specific careers resources, and collaborate closely with curriculum teams to strengthen employability and progression outcomes. The role involves promoting construction programmes at events and in schools, supporting students at risk of withdrawing, and maintaining strong links with employers, contractors, and industry bodies to open pathways into apprenticeships and work. You will be expected to stay up to date with labour market intelligence, sector legislation, training routes, and qualification frameworks, using this knowledge to offer informed, specialist careers guidance so you will need to hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and Development for this role.
The successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and a calm, adaptable approach when supporting learners of varied ages and needs. You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, confidence in presenting to groups, and a commitment to continuous professional development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a skilled construction workforce while supporting students to achieve their aspirations in a thriving and essential industry.
