About Impact Academy
Impact Academy represents First Intuition's strategic expansion into professional skills development beyond technical accountancy training. We're launching an enhanced solution that will deliver enhanced Impact Skills Programmes and commercial skills development to both existing FI clients and other organisations. Role Purpose
The Curriculum Design Lead will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing world-class learning programmes that establish Impact Academy as the premier provider of professional skills development. You will lead the transformation of our existing Impact Skills Programme whilst creating new commercial programmes that meet the evolving needs of early career professionals and their employers.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Strategy & Development (35%)
Lead the comprehensive review and enhancement of the existing Impact Skills Programme (ISP) to meet commercial market standards
Design new modular programme structures (L3 ISP Programme, L4 ISP Programme) with integrated assessment frameworks
Develop commercial Exam Plus programmes for non-apprenticeship markets
Create scalable curriculum frameworks that support both direct delivery and Train-the-Trainer models
Establish clear learning pathways that integrate professional skills with technical development
Quality & Standards (25%)
Establish and maintain curriculum quality frameworks that exceed Ofsted requirements and align with Group quality and compliance processes
Ensure all ISP changes follow group-wide quality assurance and regulatory approval procedures
Develop assessment methodologies that demonstrate genuine skills development and workplace application
Maintain consistency in feedback systems, reporting standards, and technology platforms across all programmes to enable group-level data integration and learner insights
Implement continuous improvement processes based on participant feedback and employer outcomes
Ensure all programmes align with current apprenticeship standards and Skills England requirements
Market Alignment & Innovation (15%)
Conduct market research to understand employer needs and skills gaps in target industries
Collaborate with major clients (existing FI relationships and new prospects) to validate programme relevance
Design sector-specific adaptations of core programmes (professional services, corporate, SME markets)
Integrate emerging workplace trends (hybrid working, digital collaboration, sustainability) into curriculum design
Develop innovative learning methodologies incorporating technology, experiential learning and workplace application
Group Integration & Stakeholder Management (15%)
Collaborate with senior leadership including the UK MD, Group CLO, wider education team,
and Group Executive team to align Impact Academy strategy with broader
group objectives, ensuring stakeholder support for changes Work closely with Group Quality, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure all curriculum changes follow established governance processes
Coordinate with Regional Centre teams and delivery functions to maintain consistency across all learning programmes
Ensure Impact Academy innovations complement and enhance existing group capabilities rather than creating isolated solutions
Stakeholder Collaboration (10%)
Work closely with Group functions including Technology, Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Regional Delivery teams to ensure curriculum innovations integrate seamlessly with existing systems
Collaborate with internal delivery, tech, and compliance teams to prevent programme isolation and maintain group-wide compatibility
Collaborate with external partners and subject matter experts to enhance programme content
Liaise with regulatory bodies (Ofsted, Skills England) to ensure compliance and best practice
Support the sales and marketing teams with technical content for programme promotion
Engage with employer clients to gather feedback and validate programme outcomes
Essential Requirements
Education & Qualifications
A degree in a relevant area is preferred, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with equivalent qualifications and/or experience
Understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and adult learning principles
Knowledge of assessment and quality assurance methodologies
Experience
Relevant and significant experience in curriculum design and development, preferably in professional skills or business education
Proven track record of designing programmes that meet both learner and employer needs
Experience working with apprenticeship programmes or vocational education
Background in professional services, corporate training or adult education sectors
Experience managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Experience working collaboratively across multiple internal functions and stakeholder groups in complex organisations
Technical Skills
Expert knowledge of instructional design methodologies and learning theories
Proficiency in assessment design and validation techniques
Experience with Learning Management Systems and educational technology
Strong project management skills with ability to manage complex development timelines
Data analysis capabilities to evaluate programme effectiveness and ROI
