The team...



Learning and Skills are a dynamic team within the Education, Schools and Inclusion service. We deliver learning opportunities to the most vulnerable residents in Gateshead, provide apprenticeships to over 400 businesses, and create project opportunities through external funding to help move people nearer to the labour market.

About the role...



We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Curriculum Lead to support the Curriculum Manager of the Employability provision within Learning and Skills. The Employability provision is a diverse provision which encompasses our 14-19 provision, our SEND Steps to Work provision, Supported Internships and our Adult Employability provision.



The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and monitoring curriculum planning, supporting with the growth of the provision and supporting staff within their roles to ensure they are able to deliver outstanding and meaningful learning programmes for our learners.



The provision provides learning opportunities for some of the most vulnerable groups within our communities; it is therefore important that you have an understanding of the barriers that our learners may have to overcome to enable them to access our provision and progress.



It is a busy role and will require you to be flexible and adaptable in your approach and to manage multiple and varied priorities. There will also be an expectation for you to plan, deliver and assess learning programmes within the provision as well as contributing to quality processes.



At Learning and Skills, we promote high expectations for our learners, as the Curriculum lead you will not only enthuse and inspire your own learners but also be key in supporting the delivery team and the Curriculum Manager in the day-to-day delivery of our learning programmes and ensuring learners are supported to overcome barriers.
