As a charity we are on a mission to help dance flourish and change lives in Scotland and beyond. We have four unique studios, over 60 classes a week, broad reaching support for dance artists, performances, international exchanges, community projects and more -- all delivered by a knowledgeable and passionate team.

Our professional programme supports Scotland's professional dance artists to thrive. From recent graduates, through to mid-career and established artists, Dance Base offers the facilities, training, advice, opportunities and platforms needed to build careers and develop work, both at home and internationally.
Our extensive public programme of courses and classes offers everyone the chance to dance, in an inclusive and non-competitive environment. From absolute beginners to professionals, we deliver over 60 classes a week across a wide variety of styles, alongside one-off workshops and events.
Our health, wellbeing and engagement programme uses dance to support people's health, wellbeing and sense of belonging.?Projects focus on engaging people with neurological conditions, mental health conditions, other long-term illnesses and people from socially excluded or protected groups.?We partner with local health and social care organisations to reach the people who need our work the most.?From our mental wellbeing project Lifelines, to Dance for Parkinson's, to our Move into Dance classes for older and younger dancers - we're on a mission to help dance flourish and change lives.?
Job Summary
Custodians are responsible for keeping the building and the grounds clean and neat, in a safe manner that meets company standards.
As a Custodian for Dance Base, you will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning tasks of the venue, this includes four dance studios, a reception, meeting rooms, communal areas, kitchenettes, changing and bathrooms.
You will work with the Facilities Manager and the General Manager to maintain safety standards and collaborate on achieving our goal of Net Zero by pursuing eco-friendly and carbon neutral alternatives to traditional cleaning practices.
With the team, you will take part in seasonal deep cleans and assist in the maintaining and re-purposing of spaces throughout the year.
You will be communicating with the Front of House Manager on the daily needs of the venue, we are an ever-evolving space, so open and clear communication is a necessity.
Gardening and landscaping experience is a bonus but is not a requirement for the role.

7am - 12pm Thursday
7am -12pm Friday
Duties
Day to day cleaning duties
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, while adhering to Health and Safety guidelines
Clean the venue using Eco-friendly cleaning practices

Qualifications
Proven experience in custodial or cleaning roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Good communication skills
Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment safely.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. This role offers an engaging environment where attention to detail and a proactive attitude are highly valued.
